Body to Brain Learning @ School. FNQ Course.

"We use our body to learn with our brain."

Dr Arthur Paynter (Consultant Paediatrician)

Join FNQ Educational colleagues and Dr Christine Payard (PhD) in a two-day face-to-face workshop.

"If the body doesn't support learning and function, it can interfere with learning and function. Learning to identify and address those learning challenges using a neurodevelopmental perspective helps support better learning outcomes.  It enhances student well-being and teacher well-being."

Dr Christine Payard (PhD)

Learn about:

  • Neurodevelopment and Learning
  • identifying signs of neuro-motor and sensory immaturity that impact your student's learning foundations and learning success.
  • assessing neuro-motor and sensory immaturity in students in your school context
  • addressing neuro-motor and sensory immaturity through a school-based approach that takes 10 - 15 minutes each day -- supporting and enhancing your student's learning potential
  • matching this approach with the Australian Curriculum and meeting diverse learning requirements. (This is the Curriculum, not an 'add-on'.)
  • how a student's posture, behaviour and movement tell us about how they learn and the difficulties they may have with learning things like reading, maths, writing, co-operating in class, self-regulation, attention, and so much more.

What you'll get:

  • 12 hours of face-to-face CPD (aligned to AITSL Standards), including instruction, activities and guidance using a neuro-developmental approach to help support and enhance learning in your class and school
  • the opportunity to train with Dr Christine Payard (PhD), Australia's leading Neuromotor and Sensory Maturity practitioner and trainer in the use of the INPP Method
  • a textbook/manual (worth $145) written by Sally Goddard Blythe to help you assess and address neuro-motor readiness for learning.
  • Course notes and supplementary resources
  • Hands-on activities and ways of supporting better learning success by looking at the underpinning foundational elements of HOW your students learn and use their bodies to learn
  • introduction to a Neuro-Developmental Model of Learning that supports your teaching decisions and activities to enhance student engagement, learning outcomes and well-being in school.

"'Body to Brain Learning @ School' is IDEAL for teachers who have learners in their classroom with neuro-diverse presentations, learning challenges that are hard to pinpoint and students who aren't learning or achieving at their potential. It helps students who struggle to read, participate effectively in class, and often find school frustrating. It improves the well-being of teachers and students because it works at a foundational learning level that we often overlook but which is hugely important when it comes to learning success."  [Dr. Christine Payard (PhD)]
