The Body Writes & Tells the Learning Story Â
Â
Staff Professional Learning
A half day PL opportunity for Schools
Give your staff a new lens for understanding how children learn.
Yes, I want to introduce this opportunity"KNOW YOUR STUDENTS AND HOW THEY LEARN"
AITSL Standard # 1Â
We know the standard. But do we really understand the physical foundations that make learning possible — or that silently get in the way of it for many children?
Most teacher professional learning focuses on curriculum, pedagogy, and differentiation. This session goes deeper — to the neurodevelopmental foundations that underpin how the body and brain work together before any of teaching can land.
When teachers understand what's happening at this level, they don't just see their students differently. They understand why some students struggle despite good teaching, and what to do about it.
This is AITSL Standard #1 — made visible.
What your staff will explore...
1
The concept of functional confusion - and what it feels like for some students.
Â
2
Why neurodevelopment matters for understanding how learners learn, not just what they struggle with.
3
The Brainbow® — a neurodevelopmental model of learning that explains how the body writes the learning story from the very beginning and what that means for academic learning.
Â
4
How to read the body language of learning — and what it tells us about a student's readiness to learn as well as the difficulties they may be facing in using their body to learn.
Â
How the session runs…

What happens next?
Â
Many schools find this session opens a bigger conversation — about why some students struggle despite good teaching, and what a whole-school neurodevelopmental approach might look like.
If that's where your staff land, the next step is B2BL@S— Body to Brain Learning at School, designed specifically for Australian school contexts.
This session stands completely on its own. But it rarely stays that way.
